Novu Web builds automated assistants that answer inbound messages for businesses. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to get it deleted. It covers both this website and the assistants we operate on Meta platforms.

Messages you send us on Instagram or Facebook Messenger

When you message a Novu Web account, or an account a Novu Web client has connected to our service, we receive from Meta:

• the text of your message,
• your platform-assigned user ID (a number — not your name, email or phone unless you type them),
• the message ID and timestamp,
• whether the message came from an ad or a button, so the assistant can respond in context.

We use this only to generate and send a reply, and to keep the short-term conversation context that makes the reply coherent. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone other than the processors listed below.

Messages you send on this website

What you type into a chat on this site or on a demo page is sent to our server and stored with the assistant's reply, the date, and which page it happened on. We use it to respond, to improve the assistant, and to monitor the service. Please do not type sensitive personal information into a chat.

Who processes it

• Anthropic — generates the assistant's replies. Message text is sent to Anthropic's API to produce a response.
• Vercel — hosting and storage.
• Meta Platforms — delivers and receives the messages themselves on Instagram and Messenger.

We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

• Conversation context for Instagram and Messenger is held in memory only, is limited to the last few messages, and is discarded when the process restarts.
• Opt-out records are kept for as long as you remain opted out — that is the entire point of them, so that we do not message you again.
• Website chat logs are retained until you ask for deletion.

Stopping the messages

Reply STOP to any automated message on Instagram or Messenger. The assistant confirms once and will not message you again. Reply START if you ever want to undo it. You can also ask to speak to a person at any time — say "talk to a real person" and a human takes over the conversation.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the data we hold about you. See Data Deletion for how to request it and what happens next. We do not require an account or a fee.

Children

Our services are sold to and used by businesses. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we update the date at the top of this page.
